Explicit content is permitted on Madverse and across major DSPs, subject to correct tagging - this article is the policy-level companion to the tagging mechanics in 2.12.
11.8.1 Explicit content is not restricted, when correctly tagged
Profanity, sexually explicit themes (within legal bounds — see 11.2.1 for the absolute prohibition on content involving minors), and graphic violence in lyrical content are all distributable when flagged via the Explicit metadata tag described in 2.12.1.
11.8.2 What gets rejected outright, even with correct tagging
Tagging content as Explicit does not override the absolute prohibitions in 11.2.1 — content involving the sexual exploitation of minors, for example, is never acceptable regardless of metadata tagging, and is escalated as a policy violation rather than treated as a standard QC rejection.
11.8.3 DSP-specific handling
Individual DSPs may apply their own regional restrictions on explicit content beyond Madverse's baseline policy (for example, certain territories restricting explicit content from default search/discovery surfaces) — this is platform-level behavior outside Madverse's direct control.
