Every release requires three categories of asset — audio, artwork, and metadata — each governed by DSP standards covered in detail throughout Section 2. This article is the end-to-end walkthrough.
1.8.1 Before you start
- Audio file meeting both Apple and Spotify technical standards (see 2.1 — these differ in important ways)
- Cover art meeting both platforms' artwork standards (see 2.2)
- Metadata decided in advance: artist name, title, language, genre, release date, songwriter credits, explicit status
1.8.2 The release flow
On web there is no Distribution item in the sidebar.
- Left sidebar → Releases → stay on the Music tab → Create New Release.
- Choose Fresh Release or Transfer Existing (this cannot be changed later in the wizard).
- Finish the wizard: Set Up Your Release → Upload Tracks → Track Details → Add Your Artist(s) and Collaborators → Schedule Your Release (date, time, stores, territories) → Final Review.
In the Madverse app: bottom Music tab → Distribution → New Music, then the same wizard. Track audio must be WAV or FLAC. Submit at least 7 days before the release date; 3–4 weeks is safer.
Vibe cannot create a new music release — upgrade to Creator or Professional.
