Removing a release from streaming platforms follows a defined process — and the consequences for your account depend heavily on the June 2026 plan rules covering subscription status.
3.4.1 Voluntary takedown
You can request a takedown of any release through your Madverse dashboard at any time. Spotify's own "Removing your music" guidance confirms this is the standard path: an artist working through a distributor requests the takedown through that distributor, rather than directly through Spotify. If Madverse cannot be reached, Spotify's infringement form is the documented fallback.
3.4.2 Takedown driven by subscription status
Separately from a voluntary takedown, your subscription status can determine whether your existing releases stay live:
3.4.3 The artist profile after a full takedown
Per Spotify's own documentation, Spotify cannot delete an artist profile entirely — but removing all your music means the profile no longer appears in Spotify search results. An existing direct link to the profile may still resolve, but will appear empty. This is a Spotify platform behaviour, not a Madverse-specific limitation.
3.4.4 What happens to royalties already earned
Royalties generated before a takedown — voluntary or subscription-driven — remain payable to you regardless of the release's current live status.
