Common artist names can result in multiple, unintentionally separate artist profiles on a single DSP. These can generally be merged.
3.8.1 Why duplicates occur
Inconsistent name formatting across releases — different punctuation, capitalisation, or spelling — can cause a DSP to create a second artist profile rather than aggregating new releases onto the existing one. This is the same root cause as the mismatch issue in 3.7.
3.8.2 Resolving it
Submit a request through Madverse identifying both profiles and providing proof of identity/ownership for the catalog in question. Going forward, strict naming consistency (2.3.1) prevents recurrence.
