Your PAN links Madverse's TDS deductions to your personal tax record, enabling you to claim the credit at filing time.
5.7.1 How TDS flows
- Madverse deducts TDS under Section 194J on royalty payments to Indian residents before payout.
- That amount is deposited with the Income Tax Department under your PAN — it is advance tax, not a Madverse fee.
- It appears in Form 26AS. Claim it as a credit when you file your ITR.
- Add or verify PAN in payout / bank details. Without a PAN, TDS may be deducted at a higher statutory rate (Section 206AA).
5.7.2 Form 16A
Madverse issues Form 16A quarterly, downloadable from your dashboard. Provide it to your CA when filing.
5.7.3 Reconciling Form 26AS
If a TDS amount doesn't appear in your Form 26AS within the expected quarter, this is usually a filing-timing issue on Madverse's end (deposits are filed quarterly with the tax authority, with a short lag before they reflect in 26AS) rather than a missing deduction — check your Madverse earnings statement first, then contact support if a deducted amount genuinely never appears after a full quarter.
5.7.4 International artists — W-8BEN
Non-Indian artists complete a W-8BEN form during KYC (1.7.3) to certify non-US tax residency for any US-sourced royalty income, which affects US withholding tax treatment rather than Indian TDS.
