2.23 - Setting a Release Date

Your release date determines when your music goes live and controls editorial pitching eligibility. Every Madverse plan can select a date as early as 7 days from submission.

2.23.1 Recommended lead time

Submitting 3–4 weeks ahead of your target date provides buffer for quality review corrections, pre-save campaign setup, and a stronger position for Spotify editorial pitching, which requires at least 7 days lead time but benefits from significantly more.

2.23.2 The Friday standard

The global industry standard is a Friday release, maximising chart-counting eligibility (most territories count Friday–Thursday) and aligning with DSP editorial scheduling.

2.23.3 Original release date accuracy

The release date submitted as the original release date must reflect the earliest date the content was ever commercially available, regardless of format or territory — not the date of a remaster or reissue. See 2.29 for the full set of content-type-specific original release date rules.

2.23.4 Plan-level scheduling control

Professional plan subscribers have full release-date scheduling control beyond the universal 7-day baseline — useful for precise campaign timing (see 1.3).
